10 DECA students advance

10 Cinnaminson High School DECA students qualified for the state competition in Atlantic City scheduled for next month.

The students qualified at the regional competition held this past week in Cherry Hill.

A total of 38 students from the club competed.

The students prepared for the regional competition during the months of October, November and December by performing multiple role plays in class.

Individual presenters had 10 minutes to read their situation and then 10 minutes to present in front of the judges. Teams of two were allotted 30 minutes to read their situation and then 15 minutes to present their solution.

The judges then asked them anywhere from two to three questions and had to issue responses on the spot.

“Everyone gave 110% effort as Mrs. Neuman and I were extremely proud of them,” DECA advisor Jon Repece said.

The 10 students who placed at regionals and advance to states, along with their presentations, include:

Brad Miller and Michael McDonough – Marketing Management Team Decision Making

Jarrod Averill – Principles of Hospitality and Tourism

Tatiana Duarte – Supermarket Careers

Nicholas Hanni – Hotel and Lodging Management

Tim Profy – Automotive Services

Anthony Proietti – Supermarket Careers

Juliana Sorbello – Business Services

Ryan Teague – Business Finance
